my dream cake!!

 

YAY!!! i finally made the cake of my childhood dreams!!

it was my beautiful sisters birthday on the weekend and she requested the candy castle cake from the australian women's weekly children's birthday cake book- the cake we have both dreamed of since we were 5! you may remember my prevoious post here... it was actually fairly difficult to do.. and the lollies are wonky... kind of on purpose...  but in the end i was so happy with how it turned out... so, so, so cute!!

i made this cute little decoration set to send to adelaide, it will look perfectly sweet on a simple buttercream covered cake!

a sweet mention in the new planet cake book!

i was so excited to see the new planet cake cupcakes book in kinokuniya the other day, it has a sweet mention to my popular mix and match robot cupcakes as inspiration for one of the designs!

fete cupcakes!

my friend is a kindy teacher at a local school and so i whipped up a few batches of cupcakes to donate to their fete. pink buttercream with 100's and 1000's- so simple and so so cute!

threadcakes!

i haven't decorated a cake or cupcakes just for fun in a really long time, so im seriously thinking about making the time to enter this years threadcakes competition.... hmm!

threadcakes is the most awesome cake competition based on threadless tshirt designs, above are a few of my favourite; The Cat Who Mistook His Wife (and the Kids, and the Furniture and Even the Parrot) for a Hat, clean monster, mr cloud's new scarf, spoiled milk. 

i think the hardest part will be picking a design- there are so many to choose from!

little betsy baker sent me this super cute meri meri cupcake pack with papers and toppers. they are so handy when you need to quickly whip up something cute. i just decorated them with buttercream and a palette knife and voila!
