a little while ago i designed this super cute vintage fire truck cake to match this super gorgeous imprintables invitation! i always love love love working with imprintables!

oh the ruffles!

oh the ruffles! this is my first attempt at doing a ruffle cake, i have been turning people down because i dont like to do other peoples designs.. buuut... i think i was able to make it my own ..  it turned out really pretty and I couldnt stop sighing over it! it was for a kitchen tea but think it would also suit a wedding, engagement or christening.. and it would also suit a simple topper like a little heart on a stick style... anyway i will be up for ruffles from now on!

instagram... so hot right now

 

i know instagram was so hot right now about a year ago, but i think it is still the place to be! it is super great to be able to post pics of my work as i go and it is nice to be able to share more personal aspects of my life- places i love in newcastle, things i adore.. and coffee i drink ... !

i also love it as a distraction, as soon as i pick up  my phone i will check what is happening.. it is nice that peoples streams dont get filtered for you so i actually get to follow people and it is good to know that people are actually seeing your content as well- everyone wins!

peach peony + doily

i was quite in love with this sweet little engagement cake! it looks a bit more pale than it actually was, but the pretty mint and peach colour scheme was just so lovely!

flamiiinnngggo! and wisteria paper

i love, love, LOVE flamingos! i was so excited when i was asked to make a cake and cookies for a baby shower based on this gorgeous invitation design by wisteria paper... what an adorable theme!! i wasn't really sure where to start with the cake topper- it seemed like a bit of a structural challenge but it turned out so cute and i made hand painted cookies to match the style of the invite with a cool retro~tropical theme thing happening! cute, cute, cute!

oh and i am crazy in love with all of wisteria paper's designs be sure to check out their etsy, facebook and stall at the olive tree markets...!!!

spatula icing, peonies and hydrangeas!

i am so proud of this cake! it is my largest and most detailed cake to date, the realistic style sugar peonies took forever to make- so, so, so many petals! but it was all completely enjoyable because i was so excited to see the result! and ta da! oh and best of all it was white chocolate and vanilla bean mud cake with white chocolate, cinnamon and cardamon filling- yum!!!

this cake was designed to match the lace pattern of the bride's dress and this super gorgeous invitation by better together paper co! my friend nicole makes super lovely wedding invitations that i have admired for a while now but this is the first chance i have had to work with her designs- i was so excited and i think it turned out quite pretty!! i can't wait to work with her again!

i am so super proud of my latest sugar flowers... a few weeks ago i saw these peonies in a florist- they were the most perfect peonies i had ever seen... they were $40 for the bunch... so i hesitated.. but they were sooo pretty!!! anyway i bought them and i have been dying to make a sugar flower version since... so ta daa! ..

will post a pic of the pretty cake it went on soon...!!

festoon party lights available from lily and bramwell!

my friends lily and bramwell just keep getting more and more awesome! i have always LOVE LOVE LOVED these gorgeous strings of festoon lights and now they are available to hire!!!! they are so perfectly pretty for a garden wedding!!

YAAAYYY!!!!! i have a rainbow!!!!!!!!!!! i realised the other day that i must have made a rainbow's worth of cakes by now... so i put this together! i think it is a nice way to catalogue some of my favourite designs and it is a nice colour scheme reference...!
