novelty classes at planet cake!

a couple of weeks ago i attended the novelty 107 dragon and novelty 108 wine bottle class at planet cake! CC was a really great teacher, i learnt HEAPS over the 6 days and added a few new skills to my list... like airbrushing, using gloss and structuring 3d cakes... i probably still wont be making too many novelty cakes too soon but it might come in handy one day...!

the best thing is that i gave the dragon cake to nathalie's boys (who took it to school) and later i received these sweet cards in the mail- oh! so adorably sweet!! it totally made my day! but the wine bottle ended up in the bin, i am sorry to say.. i just didnt have anything to do with it and my friends are sick of me giving them cake!

its official- these cute little heart cookies are officially my favourite bonbonniere, they have been quite popular lately and i LOVE how it matches any colour scheme so delightfully! thanks so much to caity for sending me this pic of her hen's party setting- it is so gorgeous!!

 

dreaming of...

... a holiday... i have been looking back through my holiday photos and i really wish i was in macedonia right about now... it was just the most beautiful, relaxing place to be .... sigh!

mint and dusty pink dessert table..!

 

here are a few photos from a really pretty dessert table that i arranged a couple of weeks ago at lindeman's estate in the hunter valley. i really loved working with the gorgeous mint and dusty pink colour scheme and it matched the whole weddingand the pretty david austins perfectly!

harper's bazaar brides spring issue

it is so so so lovely to be featured again in the spring issue of bazaar brides! it is such a romantic and elegant magazine ... oh and it also features some of my advice again! my advice this time is "be careful of short term trends, i recommend a simple, elegant, well-crafted cake that your future self will still adore"... hmm!

everyone knows how much i love all things japanese, so i was so happy when i was asked by japanese luxury wedding magazine if they could feature some of my cakes- cool!! how cute is it??!

i think this little heart cookie pack is just the sweetest wedding favour, i just love them- i made them the other day in lavender, lemon and soft lavender and they were also super adorable..!!

i also love the way cake pops look packaged- they are just so sweet and are another cute favour idea!

here are SO many totally adore-a-pin-able (umm yes i just made up that word... ) pics from the prettiest photo shoot i have ever worked on... AGES ago i worked with nathalie from imprintables, stylist megan morton and photographer jason busch on little bea's baptism, the table was based on nathalies sweet as honey invitation and i made my favourite sweets to suit the adorable colour scheme- i think my favourite is still the milk and honey bottles- so pretty and so delicious! *sigh*
